SUNDAY, March 2th 2022 / “27 nd SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER”
“SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER OR
OF DIVINE MERCY ”
- Christ is risen. But this historical event has happened only
before God and in this way, although there were no witnesses
other than the guards at the tomb, we could reach the certainty
of the event by the witnesses who henceforth witnessed the
experience of the Risen One when He presented Himself to Mary
Magdalene, and on that same day to the apostles gathered
behind closed doors in the place of the Last Supper, as to the
pilgrims of Emmaus.
- To come to perceive these testimonies, Faith is necessary;
for there is no known fact in history that can be compared to the
Resurrection of Jesus. “Blessed are those who believe without
having seen”. For us today, the Risen One is manifested to
us in the forgiveness of sins, in the capacity to overcome that
God has given us so that together we may walk towards the
fulfilled promise of Christ. How can we perceive these signs of
resurrection in our time?
- The first reading from the Acts of the Apostles shows
us the popularity of the first communities towards the
liberating practice of the new converts. The major argument
of evangelization has been from the beginning the attitude of
service to the poor, the helpless, the sick, the hungry and the
thirsty; hence the invocation of the responsorial psalm “Give
thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his mercy endures forever”.
- In the reading from the Apocalypse, John testifies to
faith in Christ and to the commitment to the stimulus of hope
to fight against all that threatens human existence: “Write what
you see, what is happening and what will happen later”.
- Today Divine Mercy Sunday the Gospel reminds us of the
beautiful experience of the apostles when they were anointed by
the Holy Spirit, giving them the power to forgive sins and making
them participants in his Resurrection in the absence of Thomas,
one of the twelve, who upon receiving the manifestation of
Christ, said to him, given his lack of faith: “Bring your finger, here
are my hands; bring your hand and put it in my side; and do not
be unbelieving, but believing”.
- Today Divine Mercy Sunday the Gospel reminds us of the

the Holy Spirit, giving them the power to forgive sins and making

“SEGUNDO DOMINGO DE PASCUA O
DE LA DIVINA MISERICORDIA”
- Cristo ha resucitado. Pero este acontecimiento histórico
ha sucedido solamente ante Dios y de esta manera, aunque no
hubo mas testigos que los guardias del sepulcro, pudimos llegar
a la certeza del acontecimiento por los testigos que en adelante
presenciaron la experiencia del Resucitado cuando se les
presentó a María Magdalena, y en ese mismo día a los apóstoles
reunidos a puerta cerrada en el lugar de la Ultima Cena, como a
los peregrinos de Emaús.
- Para llegar a percibir estos testimonios es necesario
la Fe; pues no hay ningún hecho conocido en la historia que se
pueda comparar con la Resurrección de Jesús. “Dichosos los
que creen sin haber visto”. Para nosotros hoy, se nos manifiesta
el Resucitado en el perdón de los pecados, en la capacidad de
superación que Dios nos ha dado para que juntos caminemos
hacia la promesa cumplida de Cristo. ¿Cómo percibir estos signos
de resurrección en nuestro tiempo?
- La primera lectura de los hechos de los apóstoles nos
muestra la popularidad de las primeras comunidades hacia
la practica liberadora de los nuevos convertidos. El mayor
argumento de la evangelización ha sido desde su inicio la actitud
de servicio al pobre, al desvalido, al enfermo, del hambriento
y del sediento; de ahí, la invocación del salmo responsorial
“Dad gracias al Señor porque es bueno, porque es eterna su
misericordia”.
- En la lectura del apocalipsis, Juan da testimonio de la fe
en Cristo y del compromiso ante el estimulo de la esperanza para
luchar contra todo aquello que amenaza la existencia humana:
“Escribe lo que veas, lo que está sucediendo y lo que ha de
suceder más tarde”.
- Hoy Domingo de la Divina Misericordia nos recuerda
el Evangelio la hermosa experiencia de los apóstoles cuando
fueron ungidos por el Espíritu Santo, otorgándoles el poder de
perdonar los pecados y haciéndoles participes de su Resurrección
ante la ausencia de Tomas, uno de los doce, quien al recibir la
manifestación del Cristo, le dijo, dado su falta de fe: “Trae tu
dedo, aquí tienes mis manos; trae tu mano y métela en mi
costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente”.
- Finalmente, hoy no entramos en comunión con un mero
recuerdo, sino con aquel que estaba muerto y vive para siempre;
por lo tanto, esta fe nos tiene que impulsar como comunidad
para hacer muchos signos y prodigios en medio del pueblo. De lo
contrario, ¿Cómo va a crecer el número de los creyentes que se
adhieran al Señor?
