SUNDAY, October 25th
“MAY THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD REJOICE. APPEAL TO THE
LORD AND TO HIS POWER, CONTINUALLY SEEK HIS FACE.”
- This Sunday’s liturgy presents us with the judgment the Lord
makes on the Pharisees, for not understanding the need for
conversion, by continuing to cling to their personal opinions,
and despising the humble. Pride prevented them from
knowing that Jesus was sent by God: “You will not oppress
the stranger, nor will you exploit widows or orphans; because
if they yell at me, I’ll listen to them”. Therefore, we are to say
with the psalmist “I love you, Lord; You’re my strength”
- In the second reading, we see how the evangelization process
is not a form of imposition; the word of God is welcomed
despite difficulties of all kinds that it brings with it. The
acceptance of the Word is also accompanied by the joy of the
Holy Spirit; in this way we are models for our fellow men and
brothers in our ecclesial communities.
- The gospel tells us that “He who loves will keep his Word, says
the Lord … and my Father will love him and will come to him.”
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest.
“ From here we can affirm that forgiveness accompanies
Love…. the Light and Mercy of God toward us. If we don’t
love our neighbor, then what love can we talk about?
- The theme of the day is not as simple as only talking about
Love, we have to deepen the roots of Love in the family, at
school, in the parish groups and especially, deep within our
hearts; for we say “With what the heart is full, the mouth
speaks.”
- I invite you to remember our deceased faithful. Please come
and register their names to pray for them during the month
of November.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“QUE SE ALEGREN LOS QUE BUSCAN AL SEÑOR. RECURRID AL
SEÑOR Y A SU PODER, BUSCAD CONTINUAMENTE SU ROSTRO.”
- La liturgia de este domingo nos presenta el juicio que hace
el Señor sobre los fariseos, al no captar la necesidad de
conversión, por seguir aferrados a sus opiniones personales,
desprecian a los humildes. La soberbia les impidió conocer a
Jesús como enviado de Dios: “No oprimirás al forastero, ni
explotarás a las viudas ni a los huérfanos; porque si ellos me
gritan, yo los escuchare”. Por lo tanto, hemos de decir con el
salmista “Yo te amo, Señor; Tú eres mi fortaleza”.
- En la segunda lectura, vemos como el proceso de evangelización
que hacemos, no es ninguna forma de imposición; a la palabra
de Dios se la acoge a pesar de las dificultades de todo tipo que
ello trae consigo. Eso sí, está acogida de la Palabra va también
acompañada del gozo del Espíritu Santo; de esta manera
seremos modelos para nuestros semejantes y hermanos de
nuestras comunidades eclesiales.
- El evangelio nos dice que “El que Ama guardará su Palabra,
dice el Señor- y mi Padre lo Amará y vendremos a Él”. Maestro,
¿Cuál es el mandamiento principal de la Ley? De aquí podemos
afirmar que hasta donde llega el Amor, llega el Perdón…. La
Luz y la Misericordia de Dios para con nosotros; ¿pero si no
amamos al prójimo, entonces de qué amor podremos hablar?
- El tema del día no es tan sencillo como hablar solo del Amor,
sino que tendríamos que profundizar las raíces de este amor
en la familia, en la escuela, en los grupos de la parroquia y en
especial, muy dentro de nuestro corazón; pues decimos “De
lo que está lleno el corazón, habla la boca”.
- Ahora les invito para que recordemos a nuestros fieles
difuntos, inscribiendo sus nombres con tiempo durante el
mes de noviembre
