“THEY SAW WHERE HE LIVED
AND THEY STAYED WITH HIM”
- In the Gospel of John 1:35-42, we have this reflection: a
neighbor found Simon on all fours in the middle of the platform,
looking for something on the floor. What are you looking for, good
neighbor?, Simon answered “My key. I lost it. Where did you lose
it, and Simon answered “In my house”. So why are we looking for
it here?, because there is more light here! This example makes us
think today, that always in our life it is important to know what
we are looking for throughout our years. Remember that when we
want to approach God we must first clarify what we are looking for,
what we want from Him; so that we can invoke Him, ask Him and
also know the place where we are going to look for Him, because it
may be that there are apparently illuminated places that seem ideal
to find God; and, however, He may be waiting for us in another less
luminous place, like our ordinary and daily life.
- Now that we are beginning the New Year, I ask you, what
are we going to look for during this Liturgical Year? Because it seems
to me fundamental that each one of us to establish in order the
ideas on different ways of encountering the Lord, whether in the
Tabernacle, in the Holy Mass, in the Holy Hour, in the Holy Rosary,
in the Spiritual Retreat or in the confessional, etc. In any case, the
miracle that God performs in this experience is very simple: Once
we have clarified what we are looking for, once we say that we are
looking for God, then the place begins to become concrete.
- It was a question like this that Jesus asked one day to two
of John the Baptist’s disciples who were following him on the road:
“What are you looking for? They said, “Master, where do you live,
please show me the way?”. The Lord’s answer was, “Come and see
him”. So they went and saw where he lived, and spent the rest of
the day with him. The Church proposes this text to us today because
she wants to awaken in us the hunger to meet the Lord and the
desire to know more about Him. Let us ask Him, at the beginning of
Ordinary Time, that the Lord may show us where He lives, so that
we may get to know Him better, so that we may love Him more and
follow Him throughout our lives. The important thing is that we do
not end up like Simon, looking for him elsewhere
- Let us remember that if we gather at the Eucharist it is
because we have been called. God has the initiative in all things.
What we bring is our desire for Salvation, which is given to us freely
through the Celebration of the Holy Mysteries. In advance I thank
each and every one of you for your presence, cooperation and
support to the pastoral work we do in our Parish.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“VIERON DONDE VIVÍA Y SE QUEDARON CON EL”
- En el Evangelio de Juan 1,35-42, tenemos esta reflexión:
un vecino encontró a Don Simón en cuatro patas en medio del
andén, buscando algo en el piso. ¿Qué andas buscando, buen
vecino?, Simón respondió “mi llave”. La he perdido. Dónde la
perdiste, y don Simón respondió “En mi casa”. ¿Entonces porque
estamos buscándola aquí?, Porque aquí hay más luz. Este ejemplo
nos hace pensar hoy, que siempre en nuestra vida es importante
saber qué es lo que estamos buscando a lo largo de nuestros años.
Recuerda que cuando queremos acercarnos a Dios tenemos que
clarificar primero que es lo que buscamos, que es lo que queremos
de Él; para que lo invoquemos, le pidamos y también saber el
lugar donde lo vamos a buscar, porque puede ser que haya
sitios aparentemente iluminados que nos parecen idóneos para
encontrar a Dios; y, sin embargo, Él puede estar esperándonos
en otra parte menos luminosa, como nuestra vida ordinaria y
cotidiana.
- Ahora que estamos empezando Año Nuevo, les pregunto
a ustedes ¿Qué es lo vamos a buscar a lo largo de este Año Litúrgico?
Porque me parece fundamental que cada uno establezca en
orden de ideas las diversas maneras de encontrarnos con el Señor,
bien sea en el Sagrario, en la Santa Misa, en la Hora Santa, en el
Santo Rosario, en el Retiro espiritual o en el confesionario, etc. De
todas maneras, el milagro que realiza Dios en esta experiencia es
muy sencillo: Cuando hemos aclarado lo que buscamos, cuando
decimos que buscamos a Dios, entonces, comienza a concretarse
el lugar en que debemos buscarlo.
- Una pregunta como esta fue la que Jesús lanzó un día
a dos de los discípulos de Juan el Bautista que lo seguían por el
camino: “Qué están buscando?”. Ellos dijeron: “Maestro, ¿dónde
vives?, por favor indícame el camino. La respuesta del Señor fue
“Vengan a verlo”. Fueron, pues, y vieron donde vivía, y pasaron
con El resto del día. La Iglesia nos propone hoy este texto porque
quiere suscitar en nosotros el hambre del encuentro con EL Señor
y el deseo de saber más de Él. Pidámosle en este comienzo del
tiempo ordinario que el Señor quiera mostrarnos donde vive, de
manera que lo vayamos conociendo más, para que le amemos
mas y lo sigamos a lo largo de nuestra vida. Lo importante es que
no terminemos como don Simón, buscándolo en otra parte.
- Recordemos que si nos reunimos en asamblea eucarística
es porque hemos sido llamados. Dios tiene en toda la iniciativa. Lo
que nosotros aportamos es nuestro deseo de Salvación, la cual se
nos da gratuitamente a través de la Celebración de los misterios
santos.
- De antemano les agradezco a todos y a cada uno de ustedes
por su presencia, cooperación y apoyo al trabajo pastoral que
realizamos en nuestra Parroquia.
- De manera especial quiero Agradecer la GENTIL
DONACION DEPOSITADA EN LAS HURNAS DEL TEMPLO POR UNA
FELIGRES DURANTE LA ULTIMA SEMANA DEL AÑO 2023. Que el
mismo Señor, les Bendiga y Recompense grandemente. Toda
ayuda que sea recibida, se convierte en obras de Misericordia y
Mantenimiento del Culto y de la Parroquia
