“THE LEPROSY WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM AND HE
WAS CLEANSED”
- Jesus manifests God’s powerful and healing love by healing
the leper, who was forced by Jewish law to live under severe
restrictions. He came to Jesus in his need and was filled with joy.
We are all called to imitate the healing and compassionate Jesus.
The leper who comes to Jesus, asking to be cured of his disease,
needed to recognize the leprosy before going for help and at the
same time, trusted that this prophet had the strength to heal
him. The Lord only asked him to fulfill the offerings commanded
by the law of Moses for his healing, but not to tell anyone else;
however, the leper “went away and began to tell everyone what
had happened”.
- Before any calamity, how nice to invoke God with today’s
psalm: “You are my refuge, you surround me with songs of
deliverance”.
- The Christian should not present himself as a unique
and specific being, he should be the servant of all, because the
Gospel that we announce is not exclusive to a group or nation, it
is the task of all to build and grow more. Hence, St. Paul tells us
in the second reading that we should not be a cause of scandal
to anyone; on the contrary, we should try to live in peace with
everyone, not seeking our own personal good but sharing with
everyone what we have received.
- Thanksgiving, which consists in openly proclaiming
the benefit received, is the best manifestation that we live in
the kingdom. We praise the Father because we feel cured of
the leprosy that marginalizes us and prevents us from living in
universal fraternity.
- We announce that HOLY LENT BEGINS THIS COMING
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, with the imposition of the Holy Ashes.
This is a day of universal fasting and abstinence in the church. For
this reason, keep an eye on the schedule of Masses and Services
throughout this day, so that we can unite for a bell of Fasting,
Prayer, Penance and Sacrifices pleasing to God throughout these
40 days of desert that we will begin an atmosphere of much inner
recollection.
- From now on, let’s make our resolutions to finally
CELEBRATE A HOLY EASTER full of Joy, Love and Peace for all.
Today Jesus is closer to your door, Let Him in!

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“LA LEPRA SE LE QUITÓ Y QUEDO LIMPIO”
(JORNADA MUNDIAL DE ENFERMO)
- Jesús manifiesta el amor de Dios que es poderoso y
sanador al curar al leproso, a quien la legislación judía obligó a
vivir bajo severas restricciones. Él; acudió a Jesús en su necesidad
y quedó lleno de gozo. Todos estamos llamados a imitar al Jesús
sanador y compasivo. El leproso que se acerca a Jesús, pidiendo
ser curado de su enfermedad, necesitó reconocer la lepra antes
de ir a buscar ayuda y al mismo tiempo, confió en que este profeta
tenía la fuerza para sanarlo. El señor le pide solamente que cumpla
con las ofrendas que manda le ley de Moisés por su curación, pero
que no se lo diga a nadie más; sin embargo, el leproso “Se fue y
comenzó a contar a todos lo que había pasado”.
- Ante cualquier calamidad, que lindo invocar a Dios con
el salmo de hoy: “Tu eres mi refugio, me rodeas de cantos de
liberación”.
- El cristiano no debe presentarse como un ser único
y específico, debe ser siervo de todos pues el Evangelio que
anunciamos no es exclusivo para un grupo o nación, es tarea
para todos construir y crecer más. De ahí, nos dice San Pablo en
la segunda lectura que no de vemos ser motivos de escándalos
para nadie; por el contrario, procurar vivir en paz con todos, no
buscando el bien personal sino compartiendo con todos lo que
hemos recibido.
- La acción de gracias, que consiste en proclamar
abiertamente el beneficio recibido, es la mejor manifestación de
que vivimos en el reino. Alabamos al Padre porque nos sentimos
curados de la lepra que nos margina y nos impide vivir en
fraternidad universal.
- Anunciamos que la SANTA CUARESMA INICIA ESTE
PROXIMO MIERCOLES 14 DE FEBRERO, con la imposición de la
Santa Ceniza. Este es un día de ayuno y abstinencia universal en la
iglesia. Por tal motivo estén pendientes de la programación de las
Misas y Servicios a lo largo de este día, para que nos unamos en
pro de una campaña de Ayuno, Oración, Penitencia y Sacrificios
agradables a Dios a lo largo de estos 40 días de desierto que
empezaremos un ambiente de mucho recogimiento interior.
Desde ya, hagamos nuestros propósitos para lograr al
final CELEBRAR UNA SANTA PASCUA llena de Alegría, Amor y Paz
para todos. ¡Hoy Jesús está más cerca de tu puerta, Déjale entrar!
