SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21th 2021
“After fasting for forty days, Jesus begins his public ministry”.
- The first reading reminds us of God’s covenant with
Noah saved from the flood: “This is the sign that I am giving
for all ages to come, of the covenant between me and you and
every living creature with you: I set my bow in the clouds to
serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth “;
for which we acclaim today in the psalm: “Your ways, O Lord,
are love and truth to those who keep your covenant”.
- The second reading reminds us that Christ died for sins
once for all: The innocentforthe guilty to lead usto God. Today
more than ever we need the Lord to free so many brothers and
sisters from suffering, from prison and from so many forms
of sin that surround us, even for many there is no longer any
fear of God, and for the same reason, they live in subhuman
conditions, abandoned to situations of extreme poverty,
neglect and pain.
- Today more than everthe church invites usto return to
the desert to have a personal encounter with the Lord, Who,
is no longer part of our lives and communities, because of so
many occupations and neglect. but today there is a lack of
God, Faith, and commitment with Christian life in thousands of
baptized brothers and sisters, who have moved away from the
Church, from the fulfillment of the commandments, from the
Sunday Mass, from prayer and Religious Identity. It is a shame
to say it.
- All this makes me think about the spiritual poverty of
so many brothers, it is noticeable in the decrease of priestly,
religious and missionary vocations, because the atmosphere of
the families today is disconnected from the most important
thing: God, as well asfrom his presence in our daily lives; Where
are the parents of the Faith? The godparents are consistent
with the Gospel and the children committed to the process of
evangelization and Christianization?
- Let us think seriously about all this during this Lent,
which is a time of reflection to return to God

“Después de ayunar por cuarenta días,
Jesús comienza su ministerio publico”
- La primera lectura nos recuerda el pacto de Dios con
Noe salvado del diluvio: “Pondré mi arco en el cielo, como
señal de mi pacto con la tierra y el hombre, les prometo no
volver a destruir a los vivientes”; por lo cual aclamamos hoy en
elsalmo: “Tussendas, Señorson misericordia y lealtad para los
que guardan tu alianza”
- LasegundalecturanosrecuerdaqueCristomurióporlos
pecados de una vez y para siempre: El inocente por el culpable
para conducirnos a Dios. Hoy mas que nunca necesitamos del
Señor para liberar a tantos hermanos del sufrimiento, de la
prisión y de tantas formas de pecado que nos rodean. Hoy,
para muchos ya no existe temor de Dios, y por lo mismo, viven
en condiciones infrahumanas y abandonados a sus situaciones
de extrema pobreza, descuido y dolor.
- Hoy mas que nunca la iglesia nos invita a todos como
hijos y servidores a volver al desierto para tener un encuentro
personal con el Señor, quien, por tantas ocupaciones o
descuidos, ya no hace parte de nuestra vida ni de nuestras
comunidades.
- Qué pena decirlo, pero hoy falta Dios, falta mas Fe, falta
mas compromiso y mas coherencia de vida cristiana en miles
de hermanos bautizados, quienesse han apartado de la Iglesia,
del cumplimiento de los mandamientos, de la Misa dominical,
de la oración y en especial de “Identidad religiosa”. - Todo esto me hace pensar en la pobreza espiritual
de tantos hermanos, y esto se nota en la disminución de las
vocaciones sacerdotales, religiosas y misioneras, pues el
ambiente de las familias en la actualidad esta desconectado
de lo mas importante: Dios, como también de su presencia en
nuestras vidas diaria; ¿Dónde están los padres de la Fe? ¿Los
padrinos coherentes conel evangelioy loshijos comprometidos
en el proceso de evangelización y cristianización?
- Pensemos seriamente en todo esto durante esta
Cuaresma, la cual es un tiempo de reflexión para volver a Dios
