“WE HAVE COME FROM THE EAST TO WORSHIP THE KING”
- The Feast of the Epiphany is the feast of the revelation of
God, made man for all peoples. In the symbolic language of the Bible,
it is a star, a light, a radiance; in other words, an indirect manifestation
of God, who passes through the commonplace, the ordinary of
our existence. It is the Star of the East that guided the Kings to the
Bethlehem Portal.
- This star must have the character of a personal encounter
with God: Child and true Man, who has come to fill our lives and give
us a more spiritual meaning in the midst of all the material things that
surround us. Today we have become very materialistic and of little
faith. Today the Child God invites us to welcome him with great joy
and to take him with us wherever we go, be it to work, to travel, to
meet our family, to the hospital or to the funeral of a loved one. We
can never go alone, let us be aware that the Lord is our best Friend
and spiritual guide, and that only with Him we go safely.
- In the first reading we see how the glory of the Lord dawns
upon you, Jerusalem, for the sign of light speaks of redemption, of
God’s epiphany among that small community around his holy city.
There today, the light is felt in the midst of the darkness that covers it
because of its human condition. A spokesman for God announces the
new luminous dawn to all the inhabitants, as well as to ourselves, of
this God who came to gather all the peoples attracted by this great
star: “Glory to God in heaven and in earth, and to God in heaven and
earthly life”. Glory to God in Heaven and on earth peace to men of
goodwill”.
- Today, all the kings of the earth will prostrate themselves
before You, O Lord, so that in our days justice and peace may flourish
until the moon is no more. May the kings of Tarshish, Asaba and
Arabia offer their gifts to you, and may all peoples serve you, O Lord.
- TODAY WITH GREAT JOY THE SECOND READING ANNOUNCES
THAT THIS MYSTERY HAS BEEN REVEALED TO THE GENTILES, WHO
FROM NOW ON WILL BE CO-HEIRS OF THE PROMISE OF SALVATION.
Therefore, the life witness of every Christian must at every moment
actualize the Epiphany of Christ. Thanks to all of us who understand
this message and spread it more than with words, with good works.
- Tomorrow, Monday, January 9th, we end Christmas with the
celebration of the BAPTISM OF OUR LORD. I invite you to attend the
Eucharist as a family and to remember our parents and godparents
who attracted us to the Catholic Faith, Glory to God, beside the
Jordan River. On Tuesday we begin the first week of Ordinary Time.
Thank you to all the volunteers who can help us to clean and put away
again all the Christmas decorations.

DOMINGO DE LA EPIFANIA DEL SEÑOR:
“VENIMOS DE ORIENTE A ADORAR AL REY”
- La Fiesta de la epifanía es la fiesta de la revelación de Dios,
hecho hombre para todos los pueblos. En el lenguaje simbólico de la
Biblia se trata de una estrella, de una luz, de un resplandor; es decir, de
una manifestación indirecta de Dios, que pasa a través de lo común, de
lo ordinario de nuestra existencia. Es la Estrella de Oriente que guió a
los Reyes hasta el Portal de Belén.
- Esta estrella debe tener un carácter de encuentro personal
con Dios: Nino y Hombre verdadero, que ha venido a llenar nuestra
vida y darnos un sentido más espiritual en medio de todo lo material
que nos rodea. Hoy nos hemos vuelto muy materialistas y de poca
fe. Hoy el Nino Dios nos invita a acogerlo con mucha alegría y llevarlo
a donde vayamos, sea al trabajo, al viaje, al encuentro de nuestra
familia, al hospital o al funeral de un ser querido. Nunca podemos ir
solos, seamos conscientes que el Señor es nuestro mejor Amigo y guía
espiritual que tenemos, y que solo con El vamos seguros.
- En la primera lectura vemos como la Gloria del Señor amanece
sobre Ti, Jerusalén, pues el signo de la luz habla de la redención, de
la epifanía de Dios entre aquella pequeña comunidad en torno a su
ciudad santa. Allí hoy, se siente la luz en medio de las tinieblas que
la cubren por su condición humana. Un vocero de Dios les anuncia el
nuevo amanecer luminoso a todos los habitantes como a nosotros
mismos, de ese Dios que vino a reunirnos a todos los pueblos atraídos
por esa gran estrella:” Gloria a Dios en el Cielo y en la tierra paz a los
hombres de buena voluntad”.
- Hoy, Se postrarán ante Ti, Señor, todos los reyes de la tierra,
para que en nuestros días florezca la justicia y la paz hasta que falte
la luna. Que los reyes de Tarsis, de Asaba y de Arabia le ofrezcan sus
dones y que todos los pueblos te sirvan, Señor.
- HOY CON GRAN ALEGRIA LA SEGUNDA LECTURA ANUNCIA
QUE HA SIDO REVELADO ESTE MISTERIO A LOS GENTILES, QUE DESDE
YA SERAN COHEREDEROS DE LA PROMESA DE LA SALVACION. Por lo
tanto, el testimonio de vida de cada cristiano debe actualizar en cada
momento, la Epifanía de Cristo. Gracias a todos los que entendemos
este mensaje y la divulgamos más que con palabras, con buenas obras.
- Mañana lunes, 9 de enero terminamos la Navidad con la
Celebración del BAUTISMO DE NUESTRO SEÑOR, Les invito para que
en familia asistamos a la Eucaristía y recordemos al lado del rio Jordán,
a nuestros padres y padrinos que nos atrajeron a la Fe Católica, Gloria
a Dios. El martes iniciamos la primera semana del tiempo ordinario.
Gracias a los voluntarios que puedan colaborarnos para limpiar y
guardar de nuevo todo lo concerniente a la decoración Navideña.
