SUNDAY, August 1st 2021
“HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NOT HUNGER, AND HE
WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NOT THIRST,”
SAYS THE LORD.”
- The Eucharist is a gift, a donation, a service, where
Christ is giving by Himself. It is celebrated in the search for
justice, within the dynamics of charity, a charity that restores
the true meaning of the sacrifice that we offer at the altar. In
the Christian sense, we could say that the Eucharist is God’s
free gift to nourish us and to receive not only our offerings and
sacrifices but also our petitions and needs in the day by day
situations we have.
- Within the Mass, the Community represents the
neighbor of the Gospel, who, like everyone, comes to give
glory to God and to trust through his divine Mercy. The desert
described in the first reading can be understood as God’s test
to satisfy the hunger of all. The manna, what is it? is bodily
sustenance, but it is also the sustenance of the hunger for the
eternal life, this bread is the gift of the heavenly father, it is a
food that gives us strength and confidence to exclaim before
God what we need.
- In the second reading, a fundamental Christian attitude
is that of allowing oneself to be renewed by the Holy Spirit,
passing from one way of being human to a completely new
one. The great religious deception would be to believe that we
can bring God where we are: “Put on the new human condition
created in the image of God”.
- In today’s Gospel, Jesus begins by giving bread, but
ends by giving himself as bread. This is the true meaning of the
Eucharist; and what a joy it is to see Jesus, when we reciprocate
with Love and True sense of belonging; therefore, we must
immensely value the Love of God reciprocated by each one
of us when we Communicate the Body and Blood of the Lord.

EL QUE CREE EN MI NO PASARA HAMBRE Y EL QUE
CREE EN MÍ, NO PASARA SED”, DICE EL SEÑOR.
- Si la Eucaristía celebra una entrega, una donación,
un servicio, no es posible celebrarla más que en búsqueda de
justicia, en dinámica de caridad. Esta caridad se restituye con el
verdadero sentido de la donación que colocamos en la ofrenda
ante el altar.
- En el sentido cristiano, podemos decir que la Eucaristía
es Donación gratuita de Dios para alimentarnos y recibir no
solo nuestras ofrendas y sacrificios sino nuestras peticiones
y necesidades ante todas las situaciones que vivimos cada
día. Dentro de la Misa, la Comunidad representa al prójimo
evangélico, que, como todos, venimos a dar gloria a Dios y a
confiar mediante su divina Misericordia.
- El desierto descrito en la primera lectura lo podemos
entender como prueba de Dios para saciar el hambre de todos.
¿El maná, Que es esto? es sustento corporal, pero lo es también
del hambre de infinito. Se lo encuentra de sorpresa, como don,
y lleva a exclamar ante Dios lo que necesitamos.
- En la segunda lectura, una actitud cristiana fundamental
es la de dejarse renovar por el Espíritu Santo, pasando de un
modo de ser humano a otro completamente nuevo. El gran
engaño religioso seria creer que a Dios lo podemos traer allí
donde estamos nosotros: “Vestíos de la nueva condición
humana creada a imagen de Dios”.
- En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús empieza por dar pan, pero
termina dándose como pan. Este es el verdadero sentido de la
Eucaristía; y que alegra se ve a Jesús, cuando le correspondemos
con Amor y Verdadero sentido de pertenencia; por lo tanto,
hemos de valorar inmensamente el Amor de Dios correspondido
por cada uno de nosotros al Comulgar el Cuerpo y la Sangre del
Señor. Pan Bajado del Cielo.
