SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th
“Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.”
- An encounter with people is often more important than a relationship between individuals. We see this in the conversation that Jesus had with the Canaanite woman who goes out to meet Him to ask for help for her daughter. The Lord is amazed at her faith and her firm request, without objecting to anything He says. For this woman in her crisis, this spontaneous encounter is opportune and unique, like the woman who touched His mantle and was healed from her hemorrhage, or the centurion who asked Him for health for his servant, or the case of blind Bartimaeus, who steps up to the Lord, to ask him to see. This gives us all a vote of confidence that we do not waste difficult moments under any circumstance, to ask for something with faith ; we will see how He never disappoints us.

- Saint Paul tells us in the second reading that just as the Gentiles used to be rebellious against God and now have shown mercy on the occasion of the rebellion of the Jews, in the same way God has allowed us all to fall into rebellion, to show us all His mercy. Hallelujah!
- Finally, I exhort you to live with great joy this month of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, which we celebrated yesterday, August 15. Let us put our hope in the new world, of which she is now Queen and Lady of all creation. Task: Make a list of the greatest joys in your life, to make up for the difficult moments you have experienced.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“Entonces Jesús respondió: Mujer, ¡qué grande es tu fe! Que se cumpla lo que desea”.
- El encuentro con las personas es más importante muchas veces que la relación entre los individuos. Esto lo vemos en la conversación que sostuvo Jesús con la mujer Cananea que sale a su encuentro a pedir ayuda para su hija. Y el Señor se admira de su fe y de su firme petición, sin objetar nada de lo que Él dice. Para esta mujer este encuentro espontáneo es oportuno y quizá único en su crisis, y al igual que la mujer que tocó el manto y se sanó de su hemorragia, o el centurión que pidió salud para su criado, o el caso de Bartimeo, que aprovecha el paso del Señor, para pedirle que pueda ver… etc., nos da un voto de confianza a todos, para que no desaprovechemos el momento difícil bajo cualquier circunstancia, para pedirle con fe y veremos como Él nunca nos defrauda.
- ¿Qué tan dispuestos estamos como cristianos a encontrarnos con las demás personas? ¿Cómo le podríamos hacer para ir generando una cultura de encuentro en nuestra familia, barrio o parroquia? ¿Qué maneras de pensar y de comportarnos deberíamos modificar para sumarnos a la construcción de relaciones más dignas en nuestro entorno?
- San Pablo nos dice en la segunda lectura que, así como ustedes antes eran rebeldes contra Dios y ahora han alcanzado misericordia con ocasión de la rebeldía de los judíos, en la misma forma Dios ha permitido que todos cayéramos en la rebeldía, para manifestarnos a todos su misericordia. ¡Aleluya!
- Finalmente les exhorto a vivir con mucha Alegría este mes de la Asunción de María al Cielo, como lo celebramos ayer 15 de agosto y poner nuestra esperanza en ese mundo nuevo, del cual Ella es ahora Reina y Señora de todo lo creado. Tarea: Hacer lista de las mayores alegrías de tu vida, para compensar los momentos difíciles vividos.

todas las familias y comunidad parroquial, y en especial
a todos los nuevos huéspedes de nuestra familia online o
