SUNDAY, July 31th 2022
“WHAT YOU HAVE ACCUMULATED,
WHOSE WILL IT BE?”
- Even if one walks around with many goods, none of them
are ours, for in the end we take nothing from this world but good
works: “Tonight they will demand your life. Whose will all that you
have accumulated be?” therefore, the banquet of the kingdom, let
us remember, is free, substantial and abundant. It is fulfilled in the
Eucharist every day, the multiplication of the loaves, so that all of us
who hunger for God may seek him among the poorest and neediest.
May our thinking be part of God’s plan and like Him, may we place
our lives, works and labors in His holy hands.
- After all, what does man get out of all his works? The first
reading says that the primary reality of man is our bodily being, of
which for many everything becomes vanity of vanities. Let us, like
the psalmist, seek God, saying, “Lord, you have been our refuge
from generation to generation.
- In a world as materialistic as the one in which we live and
in which so many wear themselves out just to accumulate temporal
goods, which, in many cases, neither pay attention to them nor
enjoy them; therefore, as Paul says in today’s reading “Seek the
good things that are above, where God is”. Let us remember that
the acceptance of Jesus as the only Savior should motivate us to
always seek what is good and to avoid all that is evil. The most
important thing must always be the firmness of faith and love.
- What a good occasion to meditate as a family on God’s
Project in personal and family life, and most importantly, seeking
the salvation of all, not just a few. Perhaps the social disorder is
accompanied by extreme ambition, which leads us so often to give
more value to the material than the spiritual, as we say in the Our
Father “Give us this day our daily bread”, although for many the
bread becomes to have for the sake of having and accumulating
goods that in the end will remain for others to take advantage of
them without having made merits.
- Remember that next Saturday, August 6, we will celebrate
the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord on Tabor. A time to
reflect on our preparation for eternal life.
- “WHAT THE HEART IS FULL OF, LET THE MOUTH SPEAK”.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“LO QUE HAS ACUMULADO, ¿DE QUIÉN SERÁ?”
- Aunque uno ande con muchos bienes, ninguno es nuestro
pues al final nada nos llevamos de este mundo, más que las buenas
obras: “Esta noche te van a exigir la vida. ¿De quién será todo
lo acumulado?” por lo tanto, el banquete del reino, recordemos
es gratuito, sustancioso y abundante. Se cumple en la Eucaristía
en cada día, la multiplicación de los panes, para que todos los
sentimos hambre de Dios, lo busquemos entre los más pobres y
necesitados. Ojalá nuestro pensamiento sea parte del plan de
Dios y como El, pusiéramos nuestras vidas, obras y trabajos en sus
santas manos.
- Después de todo, ¿Qué saca el hombre de todos sus
trabajos? Dice la primera lectura que la realidad primaria del
hombre es nuestro ser corporal, del cual para muchos todo se
convierte en vanidad de vanidades. Busquemos como el salmista a
Dios diciendo” Señor, tú has sido nuestro refugio de generación en
generación.
- En un mundo tan materialista como en el que vivimos y en
el cual tantos se desgastan solo por acumular bienes temporales,
que, en muchos de los casos, ni les prestan atención ni los disfrutan;
por lo tanto, como dice Pablo en la lectura de hoy “Buscad los
bienes de arriba, donde esta Dios”. Recordemos que la aceptación
de Jesús como único Salvador nos debe motivar a buscar siempre
lo bueno y a evitar todo lo malo. Lo más importante ha de ser
siempre la firmeza de la fe y del amor.
- Que buena ocasión para meditar en familia sobre el
Proyecto de Dios en la vida personal y familiar, y lo más importante,
procurando la salvación de todos, no de unos pocos. Quizá el
desorden social viene acompañado de la ambición extrema,
que nos lleva tantas veces a darle mas valor a lo material que lo
espiritual, como decimos en el Padre Nuestro “Danos hoy nuestro
pan de cada día”, aunque para muchos el pan se convierte en tener
por tener y acumular bienes que al fin se quedaran para que otros
los aprovechen sin haber hecho méritos.
- Recuerden que el próximo sábado, 6 de agosto
celebraremos la Fiesta de la Transfiguración del Señor en el Tabor.
Momento para reflexionar sobre nuestra preparación para la vida
eterna.
- “DE LO QUE ESTÁ LLENO EL CORAZÓN, HABLA LA BOCA”.
