From the Pastor Desk –
“YOU CANNOT SERVE BOTH GOD AND MONEY”
- Let us remember that the Gospel is not a treatise on
economics; it only offers some general, but quite indicative,
hints. And so it presents a relative attitude towards money; as
long as we do not make it a god, it can even be used favorably for
positive purposes: “He who is not honest in small things is not
honest in important things either”.
- The first reading of the day refers to those who buy the
poor for money, lowering the scales and increasing the price of
the scales in business by cheating, in order to make more money.
The denunciation of the prophet Amos surprises the people,
who have been so often exploited and abused by the same
businessmen. God must avenge this wickedness and bring the
underprivileged to safety; therefore, we acclaim in the psalm
“PRAISE THE LORD WHO LIFTS UP THE POOR”.
- The second reading reminds us that God wants all men
to be saved and to come to the knowledge of his Holy Will. In
this way, by praying to God for all, God himself induces us to
inner peace and healthy coexistence in order to maintain our
coexistence as brothers and sisters who we are through our
insertion in the fountain of Baptism.

AS TO THOSE WHO FOLLOW OUR CELEBRATIONS VIRTUALLY.

SOME WAY MAKES A DIFFERENCE. BLESSINGS.
- We are now restarting the CCD and OICA program for
children and seniors who need formation and preparation for
the reception of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. I ask the
parents and sponsors of their children to cooperate with the
catechists so that all topics seen in class, with bilingual methods,
can be complemented from their homes with their help and
collaboration, this way all will learn the manual of prayers of the
Christian and live the faith from their homes, taking time daily
for prayer, Bible reading, the holy rosary, and/or attending the
various prayer groups, Legion of Mary, John XXIII Group or in the
same Bible classes. “Do not put off until tomorrow what you can
do today”. We will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy next
Saturday, September 24. 8:00 am, beginning with the recitation
of the Holy Rosary for all the prisoners and refugees of the world.
- In conclusion, we can say that it would not be just to
celebrate the Eucharist while those of us who participate in it
exploit our fellow human beings.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“NO PODÉIS SERVIR A DIOS Y AL DINERO”
- Recordemos que el Evangelio no es ningún tratado
de economía; solamente ofrece unas pistas generales, pero
bastante indicativas. Y así frente al dinero presenta una actitud
relativa; pues mientras no hagamos de este un dios, se puede
incluso usarlo favorablemente con fines positivos: “El que no es
honrado en lo menudo tampoco en lo importante es honrado”.
- La primera lectura del día hace referencia a los que
compran por dinero al pobre, disminuyendo la medida de las
basculas y aumentando el precio de las balanzas en los negocios
con trampas, para ganar mas dinero. La denuncia del profeta
Amos sorprende al pueblo, el que ha sido tantas veces explotado
y abusado por los mismos negociantes. Dios debe vengar esta
maldad y sacar a flote al desvalido; por lo cual, aclamamos en el
salmo “ALABAD AL SEÑOR QUE ALZA AL POBRE”.
- Nos recuerda la segunda lectura que Dios quiere que
todos los hombres se salven y lleguemos al conocimiento de su
Santa Voluntad. De esta manera haciendo oraciones por todos a
Dios, El mismo nos induce a la Paz interior y a la sana convivencia
para mantener firme nuestra convivencia como hermanos que
somos por la inserción en la fuente del Bautismo.
- GRACIAS A TODOS LOS QUE PARTICIPARON DE LA FIESTA
EN HONOR A LA VIRGEN DE LOS DOLORES Y A LOS SEGUIDORES
DE LOS PROGRAMAS TRANSMITIDOS POR EL PADRE GABRIEL J
TORO CON LAS REFLEXIONES SEMANALES DESDE EL ESCRITORIO
DEL PASTOR Y CON LAS TERTULIAS DE JESÚS Y MARIA, AL IGUAL
A QUIENES SIGUEN NUESTRAS CELEBRACIONES VIRTUALMENTE.
GRACIAS POR SU GENEROSIDAD A TODOS LOS FIELES Y MIEMBROS
DE ESTA PARROQUIA POR SU APORTE, QUE DE ALGUNA MANERA
MARCA LA DIFERENCIA. BENDICIONES.
- Ya reiniciamos el programa de CCD y OICA para niños
y mayores que necesiten su formación y preparación para la
recepción de los Sacramentos de iniciación cristiana. Les pido a
los Padres de familia y padrinos de sus niños, cooperar con los
catequistas para que estos temas vistos en clase, con métodos
bilingües, puedan ser complementados desde sus casas con su
ayuda y colaboración, para que todos aprendan el manual de
oraciones del cristiano y vivan la fe desde sus hogares, sacando
un tiempo diario para la oración, la lectura bíblica, el santo
rosario, y/o asistiendo a los diversos grupos de oración, legión
de María, Grupo Juan XXIII o en las mismas clases de Biblia. “No
dejen para mañana lo que puedan hacer hoy”. Celebraremos el
próximo sábado, 24 de septiembre la Fiesta a la Virgen de las
Mercedes. 8:00 am, iniciando con el Rezo del Santo Rosario por
todos los prisioneros y refugiados del mundo.
- En conclusión, podemos decir que no sería justo, celebrar
la Eucaristía mientras los que participamos de ella explotemos a
nuestros semejantes.
