SUNDAY, August 21 th 2022
“THEY WILL SIT AT THE TABLE OF
THE KINGDOM OF GOD”.
- The plan of salvation is a call of God in a universal context.
It is the awakened conviction of monotheistic faith accentuated
by the prophecy of the exile. Salvation is defined by the term
“gathering”. Thus, says the Lord: “I will come to gather the
nations of every language”. Particular signs announce it and point
to it as the goal of all those who seek the Lord.
- In the second reading of the day, the necessary correction
that those in charge of the community have to give to the
members of the community must be a function of their recovery
and good health. That is why any climate of terror produced by
the leaders of any society is always to be condemned: “The Lord
rebukes those he loves”; therefore, strengthen the weak hands,
strengthen the wavering knees, and walk on a level path: so, the
lame foot, instead of twisting, will be healed.
- To sit at the table of the Kingdom of God, the Gospel tells
us, is a grace, not a right of blood or race. But only those who
eat and drink at the Eucharistic banquet are those who set out
and walk the path of the Christian life of righteousness. “Strive to
enter through the narrow gate”
- In view of the above, we have to meditate many times on
the value of faithful and persevering following of the Lord in every
day and moment of our life, valuing what we have and sharing
with those most in need. May the material and spiritual works of
mercy be for us the best advance to gain eternal life. What does it
profit a man to gain the whole world if in the end he loses his soul?
- It is very important for all of us to make projects and set
goals in life, taking advantage of the gifts that God has freely
given us. Therefore, now that we are finishing this summer time
and that in a few days our children will return to their academic
activities, may each family take the year planner and with
anticipation schedule the days off, study time, rest, sports and
religious activities, so that together we progress on the path that
God has given us, affirming that “I am the way, the truth, the life”
No one comes to the Father, but by Me, says the Lord.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“SE SENTARÁN A LA MESA EN EL REINO DE DIOS”
- El plan de salvación es un llamado de Dios en un contexto
universal. Es convicción despertada de la fe monoteísta acentuada
por la profecía del exilio. La salvación se define con el termino de
“reunir”. Así dice el Señor: “Yo vendré para reunir a las naciones
de toda lengua”. Signos particulares la anuncian y la señalan como
meta de todos los buscamos al Señor.
- En la segunda lectura del día, la necesaria corrección que
los responsables de la comunidad tienen que hacer a los miembros
de ella debe estar en función de la recuperación y de la buena salud
de estos. Por eso es siempre condenable cualquier clima de terror
producido por los dirigentes de cualquier sociedad: “El Señor
reprende a los que ama”; por eso, fortaleced las manos débiles,
robusteced las rodillas vacilantes, y caminad por una senda llana:
así el pie cojo, en vez de retorcerse, se curará.
- Sentarse en la mesa del Reino de Dios, nos dice el Evangelio,
es una gracia, no un derecho de sangre o de raza. Pero solo come y
bebe en el banquete eucarístico quien se pone en marcha y camina
por la senda de la vida cristiana de la justicia. “Esforzaos por entrar
por la puerta estrecha”.
- Ante lo anterior, hemos de meditar muchas veces sobre
el valor del seguimiento fiel y perseverante del Señor en cada
jornada y momento de nuestra vida, valorando lo que tenemos
y compartiendo con los mas necesitados. Que las obras de
misericordia materiales y espirituales, sean para nosotros el mejor
anticipo para ganar la vida eterna. ¿De qué le sirve al hombre ganar
el mundo entero si al final pierde su alma?
- Es muy importante para todos hacer proyectos y
proponernos metas en la vida, aprovechando los dones y regalos
que Dios gratuitamente nos ha regalado. Por lo tanto, ahora que
estamos terminando este tiempo de verano y que unos pocos
días nuestros niños volverán a sus actividades académicas, que
cada familia tomemos el planeador del ano y con anticipación
programemos los días libres, el tiempo de estudio, de descanso, de
actividades deportivas y religiosas, para que juntos progresemos
en el camino que Dios nos ha dado, afirmando que “Yo soy el
camino, la verdad la vida” Nadie va al Padre, sino es por Mí, dice el
Señor.
