FEAST OF OUR LADY OF CARMEL
“PARABLE OF THE SOWER”
- Today Jesus proclaims the Gospel in parables, without
failing to point out the essential, he never forces us to believe
by force; because religious freedom is not only a compromise
with other beliefs, but an intimate demand of the same Gospel
proclamation: Faith is a free gift of God for all men.
- We know that the seed is the Word of God, the Sower
is Christ, and whoever finds him lives forever. In this context we
will have to think today as Catholics, what family and religious
environment is the one we have; because many times we do
not produce anything important in our life, because we were
left alone or abandoned. Many others have had no education or
scale of values in their morals or conduct and, therefore, do not
produce good fruits.
- This happens in the face of the teachings of Our Lord to
those who: “Hear with their ears without understanding, look
with their eyes without seeing; because their hearts are dull and
therefore they are not converted”. We know that if one listens
to the Word without understanding it, the enemy comes and
steals it from him and therefore it does not produce fruit. It is
necessary to prepare our ground, so that God can sow his Word,
which became flesh and dwells among us; only with Him we can
transform our interior and bear many fruits of eternal life.
- The first reading of the day reminds us that the rain
makes the earth germinate so that it may bear good fruit and
does not ascend to heaven until it achieves its purpose. So is the
life of the Christian, with what the Lord tells us today: “As the
rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there
until they have soaked the earth and made it germinate; it will
not return to us empty, for we will make it grow and strengthen
it according to the will of God”.
- We know that the Christian vision of the world is
profoundly optimistic: everything that is tragic and painful in
human history is considered as labor pains in order to give birth
to a better world than this one. However, that better world will
not be another world, but this world, which we Christians have
the obligation to transform without respite
- Task: Make a list of all the fruits that we have harvested
in our Christian life from the Faith that we received on the day of
Baptism. “By your fruits I will know them”.

FIESTA NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL CARMEN
“PARÁBOLA DEL SEMBRADOR”
- Hoy Jesús proclama el evangelio en parábolas, sin dejar de
apuntar lo esencial, nunca nos obliga a creer por la fuerza; pues la
libertad religiosa no es solamente un compromiso con las demás
creencias, sino una exigencia intima de la misma proclamación
evangélica: La fe es un libre obsequio de Dios para todos los hombres.
- Sabemos que la semilla es la Palabra de Dios, el Sembrador
es Cristo, y quien lo encuentra vive para siempre. En este contexto
tendremos que pensar hoy como católicos, que ambiente familiar
y religioso es el que tenemos; pues muchas veces no producimos
nada importante en nuestra vida, porque nos dejaron solos o nos
abandonaron. Muchos otros no han tenido educación ni escala de
valores en su moral ni en su conducta y, por tanto, no producen
buenos frutos.
- Esto les pasa frente a las enseñanzas de Nuestro Señor a
quienes: “Oyen con los oídos sin entender, miran con los ojos sin
ver; porque está embotado el corazón y por eso no se convierten”.
Sabemos que, si uno escucha la Palabra sin entenderla, viene luego el
enemigo y se la roba y por eso no produce frutos. Es preciso preparar
nuestro terreno, para que Dios pueda sembrar su Palabra, la cual se
hizo carne y habita entre nosotros; solo con El podemos transformar
nuestro interior y dar muchos frutos de vida eterna.
- La primera lectura del día nos recuerda que la lluvia hace
germinar la tierra para que de buenos frutos y no sube al cielo hasta
que logra su propósito. Así mismo es la vida del cristiano, con lo que
nos dice hoy el Señor: “Como bajan la lluvia y la nieve del cielo y no
vuelven allá sino después de empapar la tierra y hacerla germinar; no
volverá a nosotros vacía pues la haremos crecer y fortalece según la
voluntad de Dios”.
- Sabemos que la visión cristiana del mundo es profundamente
optimista: Todo lo que hay de trágico y doloroso en la historia
humana es considerado como dolores de parto en orden a alumbrar
un mundo mejor que este. Eso sí, ese mundo mejor no será otro
mundo, sino este mundo, que ya desde ahora los cristianos tenemos
la obligación de transformar sin tregua.
- Tarea: Hacer la lista de todos los frutos que hemos cosechado
en nuestra vida Cristiana a partir de la Fe que recibimos en el día del
Bautismo. “Por tus frutos los conoceré”.
- Mil Gracias a todos por su generosidad y por hacer parte deesta hermosa Comunidad del Santísimo Sacramento.
