SUNDAY, August 14th 2022
“I HAVE NOT COME TO BRING PEACE, BUT
DIVISION”
- The Eucharist is a sign of unity that awakens prophecy,
demands courage and unmasks false peace. Today, as we celebrate
it with devotion, we celebrate the cross of Christ, the blood of the
righteous, which initiates and completes our faith. We experience
all this in an atmosphere of recollection and inner joy, not as passing
news, but in the context of the unity that integrates and meets the
needs of God’s people.
- The sad thing about the process of evangelization is the
knowledge that the Word of God has not yet reached the whole
world and that it has an incomplete part, namely the lack of faith
and of man’s interrelation with God, because the image of the God
of Mercy, Peace and Forgiveness has been disfigured. Today many
anti-Christian movements and especially ecumenism have “world’s
view” the concept of the Sacred, in order to make inappropriate use
of the Liturgy and the Solemnity with which we should honor God
above all things. Hence, this sad affirmation of the Lord: “I have not
brought peace, but division”.
- Let us also remember that a Christian is a believer who
effectively tries to belong to the Kingdom of God, qualified as
His people in an atmosphere of harmony and adherence to Him
through the very sacraments received, but so often distorted.
As a consequence of all this, it seems necessary to recall two
typically Christian notes when it comes to living, maturing and
communicating the faith. The first concerns the need to create
Christian groups, minimally organized and coordinated. The second
focuses on Christian celebration. This requires not only a temporal
rhythm, but also conditions that favor the very fact of what a
celebration is, for the benefit of all its members.
- Finally, the second reading tells us that the Christian
community is always the object of observation by outsiders;
it never goes unnoticed. The community has to engage in a
sporting competition, marked in the process of human liberation.
In order to win, it must rid itself of everything superfluous,
of all the extraneous superstructures that weigh it down.
Let us not forget to attend the Solemn Mass this coming 15th
August on the occasion of the Assumption of Our Lady body and
soul into Heaven. Congratulations and thanks to our Mother Mary,
for meriting such a great honor, with which all believers hope one
day, at the end of our lives, to be with her in the house of God the
Father.
- May this week we reflect on the true Christian meaning
and especially thank God for the good things we have received.

“NO HE VENIDO A TRAER PAZ, SINO DIVISIÓN”
- La Eucaristía es un signo de unidad que despierta el
profetismo, exige valentía y desenmascara la falsa paz. Hoy al
celebrarla con devoción celebramos la cruz de Cristo, la sangre del
justo, que inicio y completa nuestra fe. Todo esto lo vivimos en un
ambiente de recogimiento y alegría interior, no como una noticia
pasajera, sino en el contexto de la unidad que integra y solventa
las necesidades del pueblo de Dios.
- Lo triste del proceso de evangelización es saber que la
Palabra de Dios no ha llegado aún al mundo entero y que además
tiene una parte incompleta y es la falta de fe y de interrelación del
hombre con Dios, pues se ha desfigurado la imagen propia del Dios
de la Misericordia, de la Paz y Perdón. Hoy muchos movimientos
anticristianos y sobre todo el ecumenismo han mundanizado el
concepto de lo Sagrado, para hacer uso inadecuado de la Liturgia
y de la Solemnidad con que debemos honrar a Dios sobre todas las
cosas. De ahí, esta triste afirmación del Señor: “No he traído paz,
sino división”.
- Recordemos también que cristiano es el creyente que
intenta eficazmente pertenecer al Reino de Dios, calificado como su
pueblo en un ambiente de armonía y adhesión a El por los mismos
sacramentos recibidos, pero tantas veces desvirtuados. Como
consecuencia de todo esto, parece necesario recordar dos notas
típicamente cristianas a la hora de vivir, madurar y comunicar
la fe. La primera se refiere a la necesidad de crear agrupaciones
cristianas, mínimamente organizadas y coordenadas. La segunda
se centra en la celebración cristiana. Esta exige no solo un ritmo
temporal, sino unas condiciones que favorezcan el hecho mismo
de lo que es una celebración, en favor de todos sus integrantes.
- Finalmente, nos dice la segunda lectura, que la comunidad
cristiana siempre es objeto de observación por los de fuera; nunca
pasa inadvertida. La comunidad tiene que realizar una competición
deportiva, marcada en el proceso de liberación humana. Para
poder vencer, debe aligerarse de todo lo superfluo, de todas las
superestructuras extrañas que la agobian.
- No olvidemos asistir este próximo 15 de agosto a la Misa
Solemne con motivo de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora en cuerpo
y alma al Cielo. Felicitaciones y Gracias a nuestra Madre María,
por merecernos tan gran honor, con el cual todos los creyentes
esperamos un día, al final de nuestra vida, estar con Ella en la casa
de Dios Padre.
- Ojalá esta semana reflexionemos sobre el verdadero
sentido cristiano y en especial agradecer al Dios los bienes
recibidos.-
