4th SUNDAY OF EASTER “I AM THE DOOR OF THE SHEEP”

From the Pastor Desk –

FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
“I AM THE DOOR OF THE SHEEP”

  • The Shepherd is distinguished from the thief, because in
front of the flock he has an attitude of generosity and dedication.
The division of Christians into many flocks is sometimes due to a
self-serving approach on the part of alleged “shepherds” who made
themselves without being summoned or consecrated by the Lord,
and opened large sects throughout the world based on the word
Ecumenism, that is, open to God in any way and for everyone.
  • In the Gospel of the day, the Lord tells us that “whoever
does not enter the flock by the door, but jumps through another way
is a thief or bandit”; but the one who enters through the door is the
Shepherd and the sheep listen to him and follow him, because they
    know his voice.

  • Let us remember that Christ is both Shepherd and Lamb of
the people of God, because He gave Himself up to death to save the
people, without keeping anything for himself. He is our Shepherd,
since he became the Lamb to give salvation to all of us who follow
    him.

  • In the first reading of the day, we see how God constituted
his Son as Lord and Messiah of the whole Universe; for which the first
Christians, knowing the new doctrine, asked Peter: “And now what
must we do? to which he answered: “Convert and be baptized all in
    his name”.

  • In the second reading St. Peter invites us to return to the
Flock; for with the death of the Lord, everyone thought that they
had nothing more to do; but when he rose from the dead, it was
great news for all: “Burdened with our sins he climbed the wood of
the cross, but when he rose from the dead, he gave us eternal life
through justice and his Divine Mercy.

  • Now is the time to gather the Fruits of Easter and in some
way make them present before God, through our prayers, offerings,
works of mercy, and support of worship, for His honor and Glory.
Note: We have already received the tithe envelopes from
the Diocese for the Annual Catholic Appeal; please place them in the
collection basket or bring them to the Parish office if you have not
mailed them. I invite those who have not received them to fill out the
envelope we have so that we can all support this great campaign for
the education of our children, for the Catholic Charities Agency and
aid for the poor and thus cooperate with our Diocesan Bishop, Msgr.
    Robert Brennan campaigns.

  • Thank you all for your generosity and for being part of

this beautiful Blessed Sacrament Community. Today; of the Good
Shepherd, please Pray for all the Priests and Vocations

Greetings at home to all; with my love and blessing,Blessings,
