From the Pastor Desk –
“REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM
OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND”
- Advent is a time of conversion, a time to prepare the
roads and straighten the paths of life, so that the coming of
the Kingdom of God is near. Only He can cleanse us of all the
roughness and erase our sins, therefore, we have to go to the
Sacrament of Confession or Reconciliation, to receive Jesus in
the Manger at the approaching Christmas. Let us remember
that the fruit of forgiveness is the new life that God offers freely
to the soul that seeks it.
- The first reading invites us to evaluate our human
coexistence as the agents of service that we are, accepting
that we have been anointed by the gifts received from the Holy
Spirit; for the Spirit of the Lord (Prudence, wisdom, counsel,
courage, knowledge and fear of God) will rest on that offspring
of the stem of Jesse.
- The second reading is a call to Salvation for all men:
“May God, the source of all patience and consolation, grant you
to agree among yourselves, according to Jesus Christ, so that
with one voice we may praise God and the Father of all”.
- In today’s Gospel, John the Baptist appeared in the
desert, preaching, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is
at hand”; therefore, we must bear the fruits that the same
conversion asks of us.
- Let us remember that the Love of God has become
incarnate in our midst by sending his own Son, born of woman,
and in this way he becomes the Servant of all as Way, Truth
and Life, which is actualized for us every day when we celebrate
Holy Mass. Hence, the importance of keeping alive this intimate
relationship with Him through the Word of life and Holy
Communion
- THANK YOU to all those who participated this December
THIRD in the Advent Retreat in our parish and in a special way
to those who led it and prepared us to live intensely this call of
Conversion and Transformation that the Lord gives us.
- NOTE: I invite you, with your donation of a STAR to
decorate our CHRISTMAS, to come to the Inauguration of the
Lighting on Wednesday, December 7 at 6:30 pm beginning with
the Prayer of the Holy Rosary, the Solemn Eucharist of Vespers
of the Immaculate Conception and the Snack for all and for the
weekend our Homage to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“CONVERTÍOS PORQUE ESTÁ CERCA EL REINO DE LOS CIELOS”
- Como Jesús es Rey, se concluía que la Iglesia ha de ejercer
la realeza con todas sus consecuencias relativas a derechos,
privilegios e influencias. Otros pretendieron espiritualizar la
realeza de Jesús considerado Rey de las almas, sin conexión
alguna con lo social y lo político. Aquí Jesús aparece solo en el
ámbito espiritual. Después del Concilio Ecuménico Vaticano II
debemos situar esta Fiesta de Cristo Rey en un nuevo contexto
social, dentro de las perspectivas litúrgicas del Viernes Santo, en
donde Cristo aparece como Rey de todos los hombres,
- La primera lectura nos invita a evaluar nuestra convivencia
humana como agentes de servicio que somos, aceptando que
hemos sido ungidos por los dones recibidos del Espíritu Santo;
pues de aquel vástago del tronco de Jesé, se posará el Espíritu del
Señor (Prudencia, sabiduría, consejo, valentía, ciencia y temor de
Dios).
- La segunda lectura es un llamado a la Salvación para todos
los hombres: “Que Dios, fuente de toda paciencia y consuelo, os
conceda estar de acuerdo entre vosotros, según Jesucristo para
que, unánimes, a una voz, alabemos a Dios y Padre de todos.”
- En el Evangelio de hoy, Juan el Bautista se presentó en el
desierto, predicando: “Convertíos, porque está cerca el reino de
los cielos”; por lo tanto, debemos dar los frutos que nos pide la
misma conversión.
- Recordemos que el Amor de Dios se ha encarnado en
medio de nosotros enviando a su propio Hijo, Nacido de mujer y
de eta manera se hace el Servidor de todos como Camino, Verdad
y Vida que se nos actualiza cada día cuando celebramos la Santa
Misa. De ahí, la importancia de mantener viva esta relación íntima
con El a través de la Palabra de vida y la Santa Comunión.
- GRACIAS a todos los que participaron este Diciembre
TRES del RETRIO DE ADVIENTO en nuestra parroquia y de manera
especial a quienes lo dirigieron y nos prepararon para vivir
intensamente este llamado de Conversión y Transformación que
el Señor nos da.
- NOTA: Les Invito para que, con su donación de una ESTRELLA
para adornar nuestra NAVIDAD, puedan venir a la Inauguración
del Alumbrado el día Miércoles 7 de diciembre a las 6:30 pm
iniciando con el Rezo del Santo Rosario, la Eucaristía Solemne de
Vísperas de la Inmaculada Concepción y la Merienda para todos y
para el fin de semana nuestro Homenaje a la Virgen de Guadalupe.
