“HE WHO IS NOT AGAINST US IS FOR US”.
.
- In today’s readings both Moses and Jesus testify that
no institution can define the work of the Spirit and that no
one can monopolize the charism or Wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
Beware of enriching yourselves by ignoring the rights and needs
of others.
- In the first reading we are reminded how the Spirit of
God rested upon the seventy elders, including two more who
were not present, and when Joshua tried to prevent it, Moses
replied: “Would that all the people were prophets and received
the Spirit of the Lord”; therefore, we respond in the psalm:
“The commands of the Lord are right and gladden the heart”.
- The second reading remind us that the preaching of
the Gospel is not a neutral sermon, which satisfies everyone;
It is a clear and definitive denunciation that makes us see the
economic and social inequalities that divide humanity into
social and economic classes: “You who are rich, weep and
mourn for the misfortunes that have befallen you”.
- The Gospel of St. Mark reminds us that many righteous
men according to their conscience, are with Christ without
knowing it, because they are not against Him. The Spirit of
God rests where He wills. He must penetrate deeply into the
Christians who gather in the Eucharistic celebration: “He who
is not against us is for us”. Today the Lord wants all of us
to receive him, to listen to him and to live according to his spirit
and not absorbed in the spirit of worldliness that surrounds us,
that afflicts us and that in so many ways separates us from him.
- Our children are already arriving at the school of
Religion and it is our task, as parents, godparents and guides of
them, that we accompany them with our prayers and with the
best disposition of all, so that little by little they may assimilate
the Faith, the Love and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit that we have
received since the day of our Baptism.
- Warm greetings to all of you with my Blessing,
