SUNDAY, February 27th 2022 / “8th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME”
“WHAT OVERFLOWS FROM THE HEART, THE
MOUTH SPEAKS”
- The first reading tells us from the book of Sirach that
we should not praise anyone before he reasons, for wisdom
treasured and made his image of man and God who is in his
intimacy, knows everything about him: “It is good to give
thanks to the Lord”.
- In the second reading we are given the victory of Jesus
Christ by his resurrection, as a guarantee beyond his death.
“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”.
- In the Gospel a critical attitude towards others is
highlighted, highly recommended, but it must be preceded by
a self-critical posture: “A DISCIPLESHIP IS NOT MORE THAN HIS
MASTER” … There is no healthy tree that bears damaged fruit,
nor a damaged tree that bears healthy fruit.
- In the Eucharistic banquet we welcome Christ and our
brotherthrough the gesture oftrue fraternity and communion.
In this way we attain the necessary strength to bear fruit in
authentic love and we strengthen the goodness that our heart
treasures. Thus our mouth is filled with words of praise.
- Homework for this week: MAKE A LIST OF THE GOOD
FRUIT WE HAVE HARVESTED THROUGHOUT OUR LIFE.
- And now, time to prepare for our LENT WALK, THIS ASH
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2
- TIME OF LENT: During these forty days, the Church
invites us to go through the mystery of human life, through a
pedagogical structure full of symbols and sacramental signs,
such as ASHES, FASTING AND PENANCE. Lent is the believer’s
way of living in the world. The liturgical structure of Lent has
acquired in the course oftradition the baptismal and penitential
perspectives that have been shaping it.
- Starting this Friday, I invite you to participate in the Holy
Stations of the Cross at 7:00 pm beginning with the recitation
of the Holy Rosary by the parish groups, and at the end of each
Stations of the Cross, the person in charge of the group or the
priest or deacon, will give a short teaching. The collections will
be made by the group of young people who aspire to go to the
world meeting in Portugal with Pope Francis in 2023.

Domingo, Febrero 27 2022 / “OCTAVO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO”
“LO QUE REBOSA DEL CORAZÓN, HABLA LA BOCA”
- La primera lectura nos dice el libro del Eclesiástico
que no debemos alabar a nadie antes de que razone, pues la
sabiduría atesoró e hizo su imagen del hombre y Dios que esta
en su intimidad, conoce todo de él: “Es bueno dar gracias al
Señor”.
- En la segunda lectura nos da la victoria de Jesucristo
por su resurrección, como garantía más allá de su muerte. “El
aguijón de la muerte es el pecado, y la fuerza del pecado es la
ley”.
- En el Evangelio se destaca una actitud critica frente
a los demás, muy recomendada, pero ha de ir precedida por
una postura auto critica: “UN DISCÍPULO NO ES MAS QUE SU
MAESTRO” … No hay árbol sano que, de fruto dañado, ni árbol
dañado que de fruto sano.
- En el banquete Eucarístico nosotros acogemos a Cristo
y al hermano mediante el gesto de la verdadera fraternidad y
comunión. Así alcanzamos la fuerza necesaria para fructificar
en el amor auténtico y potenciamos la bondad que atesora
nuestro corazón. Así nuestra boca se llena de palabras de
alabanza.
- Tarea para esta semana: HACER LA LISTA DE LOS
BUENOS FRUTOS QUE HEMOS COSECHADO A LO LARGO DE
NUESTRA VIDA.
- Y ahora, tiempo para preparar nuestra CAMINATA DE
CUARESMA, ESTE MIÉRCOLES DE CENIZA EL DÍA 2 DE MARZO.
TIEMPO DE CUARESMA: Durante estos cuarenta días,
la Iglesia nos invita a pasar por el misterio de la vida humana,
mediante una estructura pedagógica llena de símbolos y signos
sacramentales, como la CENIZA, EL AYUNO Y LA PENITENCIA.
La cuaresma es el estilo de vivir del creyente en el mundo. La
estructura litúrgica de la cuaresma ha adquirido en eltranscurso
de la tradición las perspectivas bautismales, penitenciales que
la han ido configurando.
- Desde este viernes, les invito para que participemos
del SANTO VIACRUCIS a las 7:00 pm iniciando con el rezo del
Santo Rosario a cargo de los grupos parroquiales, y al finalizar
cada viacrucis, el encargado del grupo o elsacerdote o diacono,
dará una pequeña enseñanza. Las colectas serán hechas por
el grupo de Jóvenes que aspiran ir al encuentro mundial en
Portugal con el Papa Francisco para el 2023. Gracias a todos por
su cooperación.
