Pastor Desk February 7 2021

From the Pastor Desk –

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY  7th 2021

“Jesus heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. and binds up their wounds”.

  • In the midst of the circumstances of death and pain that affect all humanity with the present pandemic, the book of Job tells us: “Man is on earth performing a service, while my days run and waste away without hope. Remember that my life is a breath, and my eyes shall see no more bliss”. From this reflection we have to think: How is my relationship with God, and what have I done in my life; therefore, let us praise the Lord, who heals broken hearts.

  • St. Paul exhorts us in the second reading to proclaim the Gospel, to participate in the good things of the Lord: “I have become weak with the weak, that I may win the weak, and I have given myself to all, that I may win some brethren to the way of salvation”. This is the most important task of our life: seeking to save myself and to help others to be saved.

  • In this tight eagerness of Jesus to announce the Kingdom of God, we see His dedication and devotion to heal the sick and free those tormented by evil spirits. The Gospel today tells us about the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law and the crowds around him asking for healing and deliverance. How good to see and feel the need to be with Him, to learn more about His life and ministry. Today, we are still hearing His voice around the world, attending, healing, consoling and nourishing us with His Word and the miracle of the Eucharist. Here our pain and fear gain confidence in the plan of salvation given by God to all men.
    .
  • The Key words to meditate today: Adversities and sufferings, my relationship with God, The Proclamation of the Gospel and Salvation, united trusting in the power of the Lord: “In the Word of God I trust and hope.

  • My personal Invitation to each family or independent worker of our parish, is to REGISTER AS AN ACTIVE MEMBER, It helps the parish census and let us know the needs of our parishioners, without it many people lose privileges and services offered, such as scholarships, letters of recommendation, sponsorships, etc. Being and active member allows you to require a priest to attend your family in difficult times.
I Also, want to thank all ministers and volunteers who help us with their time and dedication.

Rev. Gabriel Jaime Toro R – Pastor
