From the Pastor Desk –
“HE IS NOT A GOD OF THE DEAD
BUT OF THE LIVING.”.
- As a central point of the liturgy of the Word on this
Sunday, we can affirm that faith in God carries faith in the
Resurrection. A believer is a man deeply committed to human
history because he knows that he will have a fullness in the
Kingdom of God, beyond what we live and possess in this world:
“The God of Christians is the God of Jesus Christ: God of the living
and not of the dead. Resurrection is the center of Christianity
and Christians when they gather to pray.”
- The First Reading reminds us that the King of the Universe
will raise us to eternal life, for here, the legend of the Maccabean
martyrs bears witness, through the words of those who die, to
live more authentic than the purely biological. True life is that
which refers back to the source. It is above the sufferings of
physical death and all the injustices to which it may fall victim.
He knows what that life is; he does not feel his death when he is
killed. But he continues living in the infinite friendship for which
he dies.
- The Lord strengthens us for all good words and deeds in
the second reading. He has given us permanent consolation and
great hope through the faith we have received so that through
prayer, we may all advance to the glorious encounter when we
meet God face to face.
- Then, let us remember that from what we sow, we reap;
hence, work will continue to be necessary and intense until the
justice of the saving work of Christ, our Lord, is imposed in favor
of all of us.
- In synthesis, we can affirm that humanity, for the believer,
has an ultimate goal: The final future of God and his Revelation
must wait in science and technology, in political government to
commit to history with the struggle for the freedom of all.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“NO ES DIOS DE MUERTOS SINO DE VIVOS”.
- Como punto central de la liturgia de la Palabra en este
domingo, podemos afirmar que la fe en Dios lleva consigo la fe
en la Resurrección. Un creyente es un hombre profundamente
comprometido con la historia humana, porque sabe que tendrá
una plenitud en el Reino de Dios, más allá de lo que vivimos y
poseemos en este mundo: “El Dios de los cristianos es el Dios
de Jesucristo: Dios de vivos y no de muertos. La resurrección es
el centro del cristianismo y de los cristianos cuando se reúnen
para orar”
- La Primera lectura nos recuerda que el Rey del Universo
nos resucitará para una vida eterna; pues aquí la leyenda de
los mártires macabeos da testimonio, por la palabra de los que
mueren, de una vida más auténtica que la puramente biológica.
La verdadera vida es la que se remite a la fuente. Está por
encima de la vicisitud de morir físico y de todas las injusticias
de que pueda ser víctima. Sabe lo que es esa vida quien al ser
asesinado no se siente morir, sino seguir viviendo en la infinita
amistad por la que muere.
- En la segunda lectura el Señor nos da fuerzas para
toda clase de palabras y obras buenas. El nos ha regalado un
consuelo permanente y una gran esperanza a través de la fe
recibida, para que a través de la oración avancemos todos al
encuentro glorioso, cuando nos encontremos cara a cara con
Dios.
- Recordemos, que de lo que sembramos,
recogemos; de ahí que el trabajo seguirá siendo necesario e
intenso hasta que se imponga la justicia del trabajo Salvador de
Cristo, nuestro Señor en favor de todos nosotros.
- En síntesis, podemos afirmar que la humanidad para
el creyente, tiene un fin último: El futuro final de Dios y su
Revelación, ha de esperar en la ciencia y en la técnica, en el
gobierno político para comprometerse con la historia con la
lucha por la libertad de todos.
