“I BEAR IN MY BODY THE MARKS OF JESUS”
- Today’s readings remind us that our Salvation is
summarized and characterized by the abundance of Peace. If we live
this Eucharistic encounter in Peace and preach that the Kingdom of
God is near, then we will bring Peace to the whole world. In the first
reading we see how the symbolism of filial and maternal love speaks
of God, announces peace and broadens hope and makes us feel the
saving presence: “I will make peace flow to her like a river”.
- The meaning of the cross that St. Paul presents to us in the
second reading is not something negative, but has the purpose of
illuminating a new typology of the human being: “God forbid that I
should glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ”, for I bear
in my body the marks of Jesus.

- Note: In a special way I want to thank each one of the
members of this parish who participated in our 93rd Anniversary
Celebration which we closed with the 40 Hours of Adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament and the Eucharist last Corpus Christi Sunday.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“YO LLEVO EN MI CUERPO LAS MARCAS DE JESÚS”
- Nos recuerda las lecturas de hoy que nuestra Salvación
se resume y caracteriza por la abundancia de Paz. Si vivimos este
encuentro Eucarístico en Paz y predicamos que el Reino de Dios
está cerca; así lograremos que la Paz llegue al mundo entero. En la
primera lectura vemos como el simbolismo del amor filial y maternal
habla de Dios, anuncia la paz y ensancha la esperanza y hace sentir
la presencia salvadora: “yo haré derivar hacia ella, como un rió, la
Paz”.

- En el Evangelio vemos como la Iglesia no tiene más finalidad
que realizar en el mundo la misión de proclamar el Evangelio,
ya su misión es universal y de ahí el envío de los apóstoles, luego
de los setenta y dos y ahora a todos los bautizados, anunciando,
proclamando y denunciando lo que no es correcto. Todo esto debe
atraernos mas como hijos de Dios y Hermanos bautizados, con el
propósito de ir logrando la Salvación nuestra y del mundo entero. Si
de verdad profundizamos en las palabras “Paz, Amor, Cruz, Marcas
de Jesús”, de seguro no tendríamos los problemas y situaciones
sociales que vivimos hoy. Tomemos cinco minutos diarios para la
reflexión bíblica y responder personalmente haciendo mas en favor
de nuestras comunidades y trabajo pastoral.
- Nota: De manera especial quiero agradecer a cada uno de
los miembros de esta parroquia que participaron en la Celebración
de nuestro 93th Aniversario que clausuramos con las 40 Horas de
Adoración al Santísimo y la Eucaristía del pasado domingo de Corpus
Christy.
- Recuerden inscribir a sus niños y adultos mayores de quince
años en el programa Religión para Comunión y Confirmación.
