SUNDAY, September 12th
SUNDAY XXIV & TRIDUO IN HONOR OF OUR LADY OF SORROWS
“Lord, give peace to those who wait for You. Hear the plea of your servant and of your people.”
- This weekend we celebrate the Triduum in honor of the Holy Cross and the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows. An opportunity to remember our brothers and sisters who died 19 years ago in the tragedy of September 11 and today also in memory of all the victims of the covid-19 and our faithful deceased. We will have Holy Mass this Sunday at 10 am for the intentions of all the Catechists and servers of our Parish, on Monday we will honor the Holy Cross: Look at the tree of the cross where the salvation of the world was nailed, and on Tuesday we will close the Triduum with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm and the Mass in Honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, this will be an opportunity to Welcome the cofradia of the Blessed Virgin with whom we will honor all Marian festivals throughout the liturgical year.
- Today’s readings give us a general focus on God’s forgiveness and mercy towards us, giving us a long-awaited complement in the second reading on eternal life: If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord; in life and in death we are the Lord’s. Hence the invitation of the Gospel: I am not telling you to forgive up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
- As a conclusion of all this, it is that God is the God of all, and although sin interrupts this direct communication, forgiveness brings us in a special way to reconciliation with all and thus, to be able to have the firm hope of a better life in heaven. In God we put our hope and trust in his word.
- I invite you this week to pray for all our children and young people who during this month are receiving the Sacraments of Christian Initiation in our Parish: Baptism, first communion and confirmation. Congratulations to all of them with their parents and godparents.
- The installation celebration will also be life streamed online Sept 20 2020 at
1:30 pm. We will also have Confirmations on the Fridays of
September 18th, 25th and October 2nd at 5:00 pm with His
Excellency Msgr. Octavio Cisneros.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
DOMINGO XXIV TRIDUO EN HONOR A LA VIRGEN DE LOS DOLORES
“Señor, da la paz a los que esperan en Ti. Escucha la súplica de tu siervo y la de tu pueblo”.
- Coincide este fin de semana con el Triduo en honor a la Santa Cruz y la Santísima Virgen de los Dolores. Ocasión para recordar a los hermanos fallecidos hace 19 años en la tragedia de las torres gemelas, el 11 de septiembre y ahora en memoria de todas las víctimas del covid-19 y nuestros fieles difuntos. Tendremos este domingo la Santa Misa a las 10 am por las intenciones de todos los Catequistas y servidores de nuestra Parroquia, el lunes haremos Honor a la Santa Cruz: Mirad el árbol de la cruz donde quedó clavada la salvación del mundo, y el martes cerraremos el Triduo con el Santo Rosario a las 7 pm y la Misa en Honor a Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, ocasión para dar la ¡Bienvenida! A la Cofradía de la Santísima Virgen con quienes honraremos todas las fiestas Marianas a lo largo del año litúrgico.
- Las lecturas de hoy nos dan un enfoque general sobre el perdón y la misericordia de Dios para con nosotros, dándonos un complemento muy esperado en la segunda lectura sobre la vida eterna: Si vivimos, vivimos para el Señor; si morimos, morimos para el Señor; en la vida y en la muerte somos del Señor. De ahí la invitación del Evangelio: No te digo que perdones hasta siete veces, sino hasta setenta veces siete.
- Como conclusión de todo esto, es que Dios es Dios de todos, y aunque el pecado nos interrumpe esta comunicación directa, el perdón nos acerca de manera especial a la reconciliación con todos y así, poder tener la firme esperanza de una vida mejor en el cielo: En Dios ponemos nuestra esperanza y confiamos en su palabra.
- Les invito en esta semana poner en oración a todos nuestros niños y jóvenes que durante este mes están recibiendo los Sacramentos de Iniciación Cristiana en nuestra Parroquia: Bautismo, primera comunión y confirmación. Felicitaciones a todos ellos al igual que sus padres y padrinos.
- Finalmente celebraremos las Confirmaciones los días viernes
18, 25 de septiembre y viernes 2 de octubre a las 5:00 pm,
ceremonia presidida por su Excelencia Monseñor Octavio
