SUNDAY, December 26th 2021 / THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH
“FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY”
- Jesus’ parents found him in the midst of the teachers
and doctors of the law in the temple.
- Wisdom comments on the fourth commandment
“Honor father and mother”. All this as the language of love.
For everyone it should be an attitude that exalts, teaches about
the right relationship with God and transcends to all members
of the family.
- In the first reading God makes the father more
respectable than the children and affirms the authority of the
mother over the offspring; so we proclaim in the psalm saying:
“Blessed are those who fear the Lord and follow his ways.
- The celebration of the Eucharist has the purpose of
creating the Christian community as a family, in the heart of
which is already offered the outline of what should be the
whole of humanity, that is, a fraternal society where authentic
love smoothes out the differences between social classes
- As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, we are to be
clothed with kindness, humility, gentleness and understanding,
forgiving each other wholeheartedly. This is family, this is love
and this is what God wants, that we live and share together
qualities, gifts and talents freely received.
- Today the Gospel reminds us of the loss and finding of
the Child God in the temple, and the way Jesus submitted to
his parents in obedience, something that is missing in so many
homes, in which there are also many children lost in vices and
disoriented for lack of education, guidance and common tasks.
- Let us all remember that the Eucharistic celebration is
the source from which flows the animating spirit of the whole
family and human community. The breaking of the bread in
common is a unique starting point to enter into communion
with all our brothers and sisters around us, those who are
familiar to us and those who are far away.
- Finally, remember that this coming December 30 we
will have a Farewell Mass at 5:00 pm in English and at 8:00 pm
in Spanish. And on the first day the regular masses of the day.

“FIESTA DE LA SAGRADA FAMILIA”.
- Los padres de Jesús lo encontraron en medio de los
maestros y doctores de la ley en el templo”
- La sabiduría hace un comentario sobre el cuarto
mandamiento “Honrar padre y madre”. Todo ello como
el lenguaje del amor. Para todos debe ser una actitud que
engrandece, enseña sobre la cabal relación con Dios y trasciende
a todos los miembros de la familia.
- En la primera lectura Dios hace al padre más respetable
que a los hijos y afirma la autoridad de la madre sobre la prole;
por lo que proclamamos en el salmo diciendo: “Dichosos los
que temen al Señor y siguen sus caminos.
- La celebración de la Eucaristía tiene como finalidad
ir creando la comunidad cristiana como una familia, en cuyo
seno se ofrezca ya el esquema de lo que debería ser toda la
humanidad, o sea, una sociedad fraterna donde el auténtico
amor allane las diferencias entre las clases sociales.
- Como elegidos de Dios, santos y amados, hemos de
ser revestidos de bondad, humildad, dulzura y comprensión,
perdonándonos de todo corazón uno con el otro. Esto es
familia, esto es amor y es lo que Dios quiere, que vivamos y
compartamos juntos cualidades, dones y talentos recibidos
gratuitamente.
- Hoy el Evangelio nos recuerda la pérdida y hallazgo
del Niño Dios en el templo, y la manera de Jesús someterse a
sus padres en Obediencia, cosa que falta en tantos hogares,
en los cuales también hay muchos hijos perdidos en vicios y
desorientados por falta de educación, de guías y de tareas en
común.
- Recordemos todos que la celebración Eucarística es la
fuente de la que fluye el espíritu animador de toda la comunidad
familiar y humana. El partir el pan en común, es un punto de
partida único para entrar en comunión con todos los hermanos
que nos rodean, los familiares y los de lejos.
- Recuerden, finalmente que este próximo 30 de
diciembre tendremos Misa de despedida de Ano a las 5:00 pm
en Ingles y a las 8:00 pm en español. Y el día Primero las misas
regulares del día.
