“JESUS IS THE MESSIAH WAITED FOR BY THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL”

The tragedy of the Jews, in the time of Jesus, is not having recognized Jesus as the Messiah promised by God through the prophets. This occurred mainly among the leaders of the people who chose to put Jesus to death on the cross, choosing to not recognize Him as the one sent to free the people of Israel.
- We all know that Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and the Apostles, including Saint Paul, were all Jews. Many members of the people of Israel recognized Jesus as the Messiah; others, on the contrary, preserving the Jewish faith, continued, even to today, to wait for the Messenger of God.
- Today we announce to you, like Peter, that “Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God”. We all know as a chosen people, that the Lord always keeps His promises and that by the authority delegated to Peter everything that is bound on earth is bound in heaven. This authority was passed on to all Catholic bishops and priests, to fulfill the promise made by Jesus. That is why today, we must pray for all priests in the entire world, so that the Holy Spirit will sanctify them and grow the harvest of priests, prophets and kings among the baptized faithful.
- In Christ, priests are chosen, consecrated and anointed for the mission assigned to them by the bishops. Brothers and sisters in the faith, you are witnesses and heralds of the gospel that we proclaim. It is for us, to pray for our separated brothers and sisters and for all the sects outside the church that preach, but are not consecrated.

“JESÚS ES EL MESIAS ESPERADO POR EL PUEBLO DE ISRAEL”

Además del tema del primado de Pedro, que parece sugerido por la correspondencia entre la primera y la segunda lectura y el Evangelio de este domingo, tenemos en el pasaje de Mateo la pregunta sobre la identidad de Jesús y la respuesta de profesión de Fe de Pedro.

La tragedia de los judíos, en tiempos de Jesús, fue no haber reconocido en él, al Mesías prometido por Dios a través de los profetas. Esto ocurrió principalmente entre los dirigentes del pueblo que optaron por dar muerte a Jesús en la cruz, cerrándose a reconocer en el al Enviado para librar al pueblo de Israel.
Todos sabemos que Jesús, la Virgen María, San José y los Apóstoles, entre ellos san Pablo fueron todos judíos; y muchos miembros del pueblo de Israel también lo reconocieron como el Mesías; otros por el contrario conservando la fe judía, siguen esperando al Enviado de Dios.

Hoy les anunciamos como Pedro que “Jesús es el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios” y además todos sabemos como pueblo elegido, que el Señor siempre cumple sus promesas y lo que por autoridad delegada en Pedro todo lo que sea atado en la tierra queda atado en el cielo. Esta autoridad luego paso a todos los Obispos y Sacerdotes Católicos, para cumplir la promesa hecha. Por eso hoy, con mayor razón hemos de orar por todos los sacerdotes del mundo entero, para que el Espíritu Santo nos Santifique y haga crecer la mies de Dios en el pueblo Bautizado, como sacerdotes, profetas y reyes.

En Cristo somos elegidos, consagrados y ungidos para la misión asignada por medio de nuestros Obispos. Y a ustedes, hermanos en la fe, testigos y heraldos del evangelio que anunciamos. No es por más, orar por los hermanos separados y por todas las sectas fuera de la iglesia que predican, pero no son consagrados.
