From the Pastor Desk –
“HIS FACE SHONE LIKE THE SUN”
- I hear in my heart, “Seek my face”. Your face I will seek,
O Lord. With this antiphon we can see the divine dimension of
Jesus, as it corresponds to teach in the Church, which He Himself
founded, as the true and authentic image of His being. Therefore,
the Transfiguration of the Lord that the Gospel of Matthew narrates
today, more than a spectacle, is the Royalty of his Divinity, before
which the disciples fell on their faces, filled with horror. Jesus then
came and touched them and said to them, “Rise, do not be afraid, it
is I”. How far does our trust in Him go?
- For us today, to see Abraham’s vocation as the father of
God’s people is a cause for joy and reflection, because it means
leaving the security of his people, his land and his family, to go to
another place he does not know, to carry out the task that God
indicated to him at the time. In the same way, we priests and the
baptized have to discover this path and the call that he makes to us
individually for the mission that he has entrusted to us.
- Before this call, the best invocation is the one we make in
Psalm 32 of the day: “May your mercy, Lord, come upon us, as we
have come to expect from you”. In addition, the proclamation of
the Gospel will always be hard work and is due only to a mysterious
vocation of God, who breaks into our lives sometimes against the
current of man’s dreams and aspirations.
- I invite you as a reflection of the day, to take a few minutes
of silence and invite Him to help you to reorient your personal life
projects, understanding that many times we have been wrong
perhaps in many of our decisions because we did not count on Him
nor did we take Him into account in many episodes that happened
to us and that today, by the grace of God received, we realize that if
we were not more aware of what we have lived, said and done, we
would not be what we are.
- Finally, we know that we celebrate in the Eucharist the
death and resurrection of Jesus, The mystery of his life was the same
as Abraham’s. He left his homeland, abandoned all he had, trusting
in the promise of his father-God and did not allow himself to be
overcome by the disappointing passion and death that he assumed
in exchange for our salvation.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Gabriel Toro:
“SU ROSTRO RESPLANDECIA COMO EL SOL”
- Oigo en mi corazón, “Buscad mi rostro”. Tu rostro buscaré,
Señor. Con esta antífona podemos ver la dimensión divina de Jesús,
como corresponde enseñar en la Iglesia, que El mismo fundó, como
verdadera y auténtica imagen de su ser. Por lo tanto, la Transfiguración
del Señor que nos narra hoy el Evangelio de Sn Mateo, Mas que un
espectáculo, es la Realeza de su Divinidad, ante el cual los discípulos
cayeron de bruces, llenos de espanto. Jesús entonces se acercó y,
tocándolos, les dijo: “Levantaos, no teman, Soy Yo”. ¿Hasta dónde
va nuestra confianza en Él?
- Para nosotros hoy en día, ver la vocación de Abraham,
como padre del pueblo de Dios es motivo de alegría y de reflexión,
porque significa abandonar la seguridad de su pueblo, de su tierra
y de su familia, para ir inciertamente a otro lugar que no conoce,
para realizar la tarea que Dios en su momento le indicó. Así mismo,
nosotros los sacerdotes y los bautizados hemos de ir descubriendo
este camino y la llamada que nos hace individualmente para la misión
que nos ha encomendado
- Ante este llamado la mejor invocación es la que hacemos en el
salmo 32 del día: “Que tu misericordia, Señor, venga sobre nosotros,
como lo esperamos de Ti”. Adicionalmente, la proclamación del
evangelio siempre será un trabajo duro y se debe solo a una
misteriosa vocación de Dios, que irrumpe en la vida de nosotros a
veces en contracorriente de los sueños y aspiraciones del hombre.
- Les invito como reflexión del día, a sacar unos minutos de
silencio e invitarlo a Él, para que nos ayude a reorientar nuestro
proyecto personal de vida, entendiendo que muchas veces nos
hemos equivocado quizá en muchas de nuestras decisiones porque
no contamos con El ni le tuvimos en cuenta en muchos episodios que
nos acontecieron y que hoy, por la gracia de Dios recibida, nos damos
cuenta que de no estar más conscientes de lo que hemos vivido,
dicho y hecho, no seriamos lo que somos.
- Finalmente sabemos que celebramos en la Eucaristía la
muerte y resurrección de Jesús, El misterio de su vida fue el mismo
de Abraham. Salió de su tierra, abandonó cuanto tenia, fiado en la
promesa de su padre Dios, no se dejó vencer por la decepcionante
pasión y muerte que asumió a cambio de nuestra salvación.
