SUNDAY, April 10 th 2022 / “PALM SUNDAY”
“BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME
OF THE LORD”
- The world is not accustomed to a man giving his life
for the benefit of others. What we are accustomed to is that
some men take the lives of other brothers; for humanity has
become accustomed to wars, hunger, torture, oppression and
relentless exploitation. Entire peoples are exterminated. Many
men today. Their hands are stained with blood, but there are
also good men, and even if we are few, their good deeds will
weigh more in the scales of heaven than the evils of others
- The reading of the Passion of the Lord is an incomparable
proof that the true path of man’s perfection is love for others,
to the point of being capable of giving one’s life for them. The
firm conviction of the Christian faith proclaims that whoever
loses his life will gain it forever.
- The figure of the servant who presents himself in the
first reading from Isaiah has the pain of every creature that
has been abused, but also the confidence that illuminates
suffering. The message he announces is the same: “Word of
encouragement to all who suffer”. There is perspective to
the pain of the people who have been banished. God is in the
suffering with the servant, and servants of God are all those
who suffer and hear the meaning. In them the pain is redeemed.
- The reflection of the second reading of St. Paul is that
Christ, in spite of his divine condition, did not flaunt his category
of God, for he stripped himself of his rank and assumed the
condition of a slave; for, although he could save humanity from
the platform of his glory, he preferred to share the human
tragedy, for he became man, in order to give glory to God.
- We can say that the third act of the Passion that we
narrate today is the definitive acceptance of death, without
trying to commit God to perform a miracle, because the painful
passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, must serve as a
source of prayer and accompaniment to all of us who have lost
loved ones, who are already enjoying with God in his house.
- Giving one’s life for others is not easy. Christ struggles
between the impulse to preserve his life and the plan of God,
who thus initiates him to give his life in the service of humanity.
- Remember tomorrow, Holy Monday, Day of
Reconciliation and penance for all. Please keep the schedule of
all the services and liturgical acts of this Holy Week.

“BENDITO EL QUE VIENE EN NOMBRE
DEL SEÑOR”
- No está el mundo acostumbrado a que un hombre
entregue su vida en favor de los demás. A lo que si estamos
acostumbrados es a que unos hombres quiten la vida a otros
hermanos; pues la humanidad se ha habituado a las guerras,
al hambre, a las torturas, a las opresiones, a la explotación sin
tregua. Pueblos enteros son exterminados. Muchos hombres
hoy. Llevan sus manos manchadas de sangre, pero también hay
hombres buenos y aunque fuéramos pocos, pesarán mas sus
buenas obras en la balanza del cielo que los males de los demás.
- La lectura de la Pasión del Señor es una muestra
inigualable de que el verdadero camino de la perfección del
hombre es el amor a los demás, hasta ser capaz de dar la vida por
ellos. La firme convicción de la fe cristiana proclama que quien
pierde su vida, la ganará para siempre.
- La segunda lectura nos dice que la fe del cristiano
consiste esencialmente en creer que Jesús es el Señor, el Único
Señor, y que, por consiguiente, no permite que surjan otros
“señores” que pretendan hipotecar la libertad del individuo o
de los pueblos. Por eso, los primeros cristianos, rebeldes ante
la tiranía de los emperadores, morían gritando: “Cristo es el
Señor”.
- La figura del siervo que se auto presenta en la primera
lectura de Isaías tiene el dolor de toda criatura que ha sido
abusada, pero también la confianza que ilumina el sufrimiento. El
mensaje que anuncia es el mismo: “Palabra de aliento para todos
los que sufren”. Hay perspectiva al dolor del pueblo que ha sido
desterrado. Dios está en el sufrimiento con el siervo, y siervos de
Dios son todos los que sufren y escuchan el sentido. En ellos se
redime el dolor.
- La reflexión de la segunda lectura de Sn Pablo, es
que Cristo, a pesar de su condición divina, no hizo alarde de
su categoría de Dios, pues se despojó de su rango y asumió la
condición de esclavo; pues, aunque pudo salvar a la humanidad
desde la plataforma de su gloria, prefirió compartir la tragedia
humana, pues se hizo hombre, para dar Gloria a Dios.
- Podemos decir, que el tercer acto de la Pasión que
narramos hoy es la aceptación definitiva de la muerte, sin intentar
comprometer a Dios para que realice un milagro, pues la dolora
pasión y muerte de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, ha de servir como
fuente de Oración y acompañamiento a todos los que hemos
perdido seres queridos, que gozan ya con Dios en su casa.
- Dar la vida por los demás no es fácil. Cristo lucha entre el
impulso de conservar su vida y el plan de Dios, que de esta forma
lo inicia para entregar su vida en servicio de la humanidad.
- Recuerden mañana lunes Santo, Día de Reconciliación y
penitencia para todos. Favor conserve la programación de todos
los servicios y actos litúrgicos de esta semana Santa.
