“SELL WHAT YOU HAVE AND FOLLOW ME”

  • It is very interesting in today’s first reading to see what
    is in the heart of King Solomon, for when offered the choice
    of wisdom or wealth, he asks for Wisdom. Conversely, when
    we men are given the choice of following Jesus or remaining
    attached to material riches, man usually chooses the goods.
    The Word of God challenges us to attach ourselves to Jesus,
    and to nothing else. .
  •  In the second reading, the Word of God judges the
    desires and intentions of the heart, as a sharp two-edged
    sword that disturbs the comfortable security of our bourgeois
    consciences. In this respect, how interesting it would be for us
    to live according to Divine and not merely human criteria?
